SHANGHAI, CHINA -July 21, 2016– Spreadtrum Communications (“Spreadtrum”), a leading fabless semiconductor company in China with advanced technology in 2G, 3G, and 4G wireless communication standards, today announced that its quad-core LTE mobile chipset, the SC9830i has been adopted by Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A7.0” that is a highly mobile business tool designed to improve workflow efficiencies.
The SC9830i platform, is now shipping in the Samsung GALAXY Tab A7.0" tablets, which are thin, lightweight design with7.0" models available with LTE (SM-T285 series) and Wi-Fi (SM-T280 series) features. These tablets, designed with Spreadtrum's quad-core 1.5GHz LTE processor, feature a 7.0” TFT LCD display with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, a 5 MP rear cameraand 2 MP front-facing camera, 8GB internal memory and 1.5GB RAM, a Micro SD slot and a battery capacity of 4000mAh.
The highly integrated LTE platform consists 28nm quad-core 1.5GHz TDD-LTE/LTE-FDD/WCDMA/HSPA(+) /GSM/GPRS SC9830i baseband chip, RF chip SR3593S, power management chip SC2723M and Spreadtrum’s 3in1 connectivity chip SC2331S.
