Spreadtrum LTE Chipset Powers China Mobile Smartphones

Shanghai, China, December 20, 2016– Spreadtrum Communications (“Spreadtrum”), a leading fabless semiconductor company in China with advanced technology in 2G, 3G, and 4G wireless communication standards, today announced that its LTE SoC platform SC9832 will power China Mobile smartphones that are expected to be available in the market in the first quarter of 2017.

The new China Mobile smartphones will be powered by Spreadtrum 28nm quad-core 1.3GHz ARM Cortex-A7 five mode (TDD-LTE/FDD-LTE/WCDMA/HSPA(+)/GSM/GPRS) LTE chip platform SC9832. It supports a 5-inch HD 720P IPS touch screen, VoLTE as well as dual-SIM and dual-standby functions, providing users a great LTE experience.

In IoT, Spreadtrum has already partnered with China Mobile to launch the first fully independently developed industrial dual-band 2G communications module, M6311, which can meet many application requirements of the IoT industry. In 5G, Spreadtrum is a member in China Mobile's 5G Joint Innovation Centre where both parties will work together to carry out research and development on new technologies for the future.
